We will soon launch lyrics distribution, and your lyrics will automatically appear on all supported platforms without the need for manual editing.
When uploading lyrics, please follow these formatting guidelines:
Language and Characters
Use the original language of the song and its appropriate characters. Do not use transliteration.
For example, if the song is in Chinese, use Chinese characters rather than Latin letters mimicking the pronunciation.
Capitalization
Each line must begin with a capital letter.
Spacing Between Sections
Use no more than one empty line between verses, choruses, or other sections.
Section Tags
Do not include tags such as "Verse", "Chorus", "Bridge", or "Hook". These should be removed.
Repetitions
Do not use shorthand to indicate repetition. Write out each line or section as many times as it appears in the song.
Song Metadata
Remove all metadata such as artist name, album title, track name, or copyright/publishing credits. Include lyrics only.
Sounds and Effects
Do not include sound effects such as "gunshot", "applause", or "horn".
Descriptive Tags
Remove tags like [Talking], {Speaking}, or (Whispering).
Contractions
Use apostrophes in contractions to indicate missing letters.
For example: givin’, livin’.
Spelling
Avoid intentional misspellings unless they reflect the actual pronunciation or are part of the official track name.
Example: The Dells – Oh, What a Nite is acceptable.
Slang
Slang is allowed only if it matches the way the artist pronounces the word.
Example: for shizzle is acceptable; becuz should be corrected to because.
Exaggerations
Reduce exaggerated expressions to their base form.
Examples: ohhhh → oh, bang!!!!! → bang.
Background Vocals
Place background vocals on the same line as the main vocal and wrap them in parentheses.
Example: I’m a survivor (What, what)
Translating Lyrics
Avoid literal translation. Translate with meaning and context in mind.
Line count must match. The number of lines in the translation must match the original.
Translate each line completely, conveying the full sense of the original lyrics.
Example:
Grey skies, frownin’ at me
Grey skies I watch
Redbirds yellin’ a tune
Grey skies I watch all day long
Can’t see the moon shining so dull
Can’t see the moon shining so dull
Can’t the days hurry by
Can’t the days hurry by
Can’t see the moon shining so dull
Can’t see the moon shining so dull
Can’t the days hurry by
Can’t the days hurry by
